Artemis Credit Bureau uses the data it collects to provide Support services to interested banks and Credit Acquiring Companies. In specific, Artemis Credit Bureau, in the context of providing these supporting services, maintains the following Data Registers (“Other Data Registers”):
The purpose of the specific Register is the monitoring and dealing with financial risks, the safeguard of commercial credit and the improvement of business relationships. This purpose coincides with both the purpose and the need of the Central Information Register (CIR) to address the serious problem of dishonored checks which undermines the role of cheques as a reliable means of payment and is a destabilizing factor for the viability and reliability of businesses and traders with all the negative effects on the economy, as well as for the purpose of the bankruptcy Register, which is publicly accessible from the website of the Department of Insolvency (http://ir.drcor.mcit.gov.cy/home/searchperson).
The relevant support service of Artemis Credit Bureau is offered exclusively to Banks.
The specific Register aims to ensure timely and accurate information regarding bankruptcies of physical entities. Specifically, the recipients of this support service receive a list of bankruptcies entries with the week's listings. The primary information is included in the Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus. The information facilitates Banks and Credit Acquiring Companies in the process of monitoring bankruptcies for their clients. Thus, as mentioned above, the purpose of monitoring and dealing with financial risks, the preservation of commercial credit and the consolidation of business relationships, is satisfied.
The relevant support service of Artemis Credit Bureau is offered to Banks and Credit Acquiring Companies.
3.1 Register of Issuers of Dishonored cheques & Bankruptcies of physical entities.
3.2 Register of Gazette entries on bankruptcies of physical entities
The processing of personal data is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests of the Banks and the Credit Acquiring companies which coincide with the purposes of the Registers, as analyzed above.
We share the personal data with the interested Banks and Credit Acquiring Companies which operate in Cyprus for the assessment of the creditworthiness of their customers, depending on the Support service.
We use an IT service provider to perform data processing tasks on our own behalf.
Individuals are entitled to obtain copies of their personal data that we hold in our Database. You can find more information in Section 9 below.
We are based in Cyprus and our database is located only in Cyprus. We do not send any information outside Cyprus.
7.1 Register of Issuers of Dishonored cheques & Bankruptcies of physical entities
Information about the issuers of Dishonoured Cheques is deleted from the Artemis Credit Bureau Database according to the Rules / Procedures set up by the Management Committee of Central Information Register (CIR).
Information about Bankruptcies / Dissolutions and applications of Bankruptcies / Dissolutions is kept on the Database according to the Regulations set up by the Department of Insolvency.
We hold data in an archived form for up to ten (10) years, for investigation and enquiry purposes and as appropriate for our defense in legal claims.
7.2 Register of Gazette entries on bankruptcies of physical entities
The Data on Bankruptcies which are obtained from the Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus are kept in the form of weekly reports (lists) of entries for a period of 13 months. There is no single unified, cumulative register of the specific data.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling in relation to your personal data.
You can request us to provide you with a copy of your personal data we hold in our Database
You can request a correction for any incomplete, inaccurate or out of date information we hold about you
You can request us to restrict the processing of your data.
You can request deletion of your data for any incomplete, inaccurate or out of date information we hold about you.
The Right to data portability is not applicable to Artemis Database because the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation. The right to portability does not apply to the database of the said Registers due to the fact that the processing of the data is not based on your consent or a relevant contract but on legitimate interest.
You can exercise the Right to object to your data that we keep in our database, that is, the possibility to object, at any time and for reasons related to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you.
